11 Things Women Really Want From Wedding Night Sex | Black and ...

by Charli Penn-Watkins

Now, let?s be honest here: The majority of married couples don?t actually get around to having sex on their wedding night. You might as well scrap what watching all those rom-coms taught you. After all the craziness that is surviving your wedding day in tact, you?re usually drunk, exhausted, or both by the time you get back to your room. That said, who wants to be a statistic? (Especially on their wedding night.) We didn?t!

I say, add ?getting laid? to your wedding day to-do-list, right alongside all the other tasks you?ll go bat crazy over seeing go undone. And, if you?re gonna make it a priority, you might as well do it right. Men, here?s a handy little guide to what your wife-to-be will really want to get out of the evening?s activities, and ladies, here?s your first official ?honey do? list.

A Good Laugh

Undressing is sexy; slipping out of a 20-pound gown is not. It will be funny, and you should laugh long and hard about it. The same goes for all the other ?bloopers? you?re bound to experience that night.

Naughty Vows

You?ve already vowed to cherish and protect each other at all costs. Now it?s time to make the juicier promises you fully intend to keep. You get where I?m going with this, right? Let?s keep this post safe for work and let you fill in the blanks.

Background Music

This is the part where the movies got it right. Nothing sets the mood quite like a naughty playlist. [Insert her favorite slow jams here.]

Compliments

Every woman wants to be told they?re the most beautiful bride in the world on the big day. If your betrothed says she doesn?t want the same shameless flattery between the sheets on the big night, she?s lying. Case closed.

Something for All Her Senses

You?ve got the touching covered, but what about her other senses? Be sure the room is scented, styled, and soundproofed to perfection. And, don?t forget the sweets.

This list is just getting started. You can check it out in it?s entirety over at the Man, Wife and Dog Blog.

Google rolls in tablet market with Nexus 7

Google opened fire on iPad and Kindle Fire with a Nexus tablet designed to showcase the latest Android software and be a window into its online shop for films, music and more.

The Nexus 7 tablet computer will be priced at less than half the cost of the market-leading iPad and broadens Google's arsenal in its battle against Apple, Amazon.com, and Microsoft to be at the heart of Internet Age lifestyles.

The seven-inch tablet powered by the latest generation of Android software is being made for Google by Taiwan-based Asus and weighs about as much as a paperback book, according to Android team head Hugo Barra.

"We wanted to design a best-of Google experience optimized around the content available at Google Play," Barra said during a presentation opening the Internet titan's annual developers conference in San Francisco.

Nexus tablets were available for order in Australia, Canada, Britain, and the United States at the Google Play store at a price of $199 and would begin shipping in mid-July, Barra said. That is the same price as Amazon's Kindle Fire.

The tablets come with a $25 coupon for Google Play content -- Google's answer to Amazon and Apple's iTunes stores for books, music, magazines and other content.

"It has always been a goal of the Nexus program to provide you with the best-of Google experience the way Google envisions it," Barra said.

Google also introduced an Android-powered Nexus Q device for wirelessly streaming films or music from Google Play to televisions or speakers.

Along with the new hardware, Google said it is beefing up its Google Play store to offer more entertainment.

"Google Play is your digital entertainment destination, with more than 600,000 apps and games plus music, movies and books," a Google blog post said.

"It's entirely cloud-based, which means all of your content is always available across all of your devices."

In addition to movie rentals, Google will be offering films for sale. The California-based Internet powerhouse boasted partnerships with major studios such as Disney, Paramount and Sony.

"You can watch as much as you like. You can also purchase episodes of your favorite TV shows," the California tech giant said.

Google Play will also be adding digital magazines from Hearst, Conde Nast and other publishers.

The company described Nexus 7 as "a powerful new tablet" which "makes everything, including games, extremely fast."

It weighs 340 grams (12 ounces) and has a front-facing camera.

Android platform developer Chris Yerga said Nexus 7 is also "a serious gaming device."

Google at the same time said it was releasing a new version of its Android software for mobile devices, called "Jelly Bean," which "builds on top of Ice Cream Sandwich," the current iteration of Android.

"It makes everything smoother, faster and more fluid," the Google blog said.

"The keyboard is smarter and more accurate, and can predict your next word. And voice typing is faster, working even when you don't have a data connection."

While Android has leapt to the top of the mobile phone market, Apple remains dominant in tablets, holding around 62 percent of the market to 36 percent for Android, according to research firm IDC.

The news from Google comes just a week after Microsoft took on Apple with a plan to release its own branded tablet called Surface later this year.

"Learning a lesson from Amazon, Google can see that the only way to beat the premium-worthy iPad is to go for the millions of customers who are ready for smaller and cheaper tablets," said Forrester analyst James McQuivey.

After hooking fans with a low-price Android tablet, Google could then direct their loyalty to higher-end devices powered by the operating system and build the ranks of customers at Google Play, the analyst reasoned.

"That range of services will be the secret to stitching together this rag-tag fleet of Android gadgets into a platform that can compete with Apple for minutes of users' attention rather than premium device dollars," McQuivey said.

The number of Android devices being used has quadrupled since this time last year to 400 million, with a million new smartphones or tablets powered by the Google-backed software being activated daily, according to Google.

"We are not slowing down," Barra said of Android's growth.

Jelly Bean software improvements included a keyboard that "learns" as it is used and eventually starts predicting words before they are typed. The program has beefed up abilities to convert speech to text or into search queries.

A Google Now feature lets people combine search history, calendar and other information to allow devices to predict needs such as a fast route to work in the morning or a nearby coffee shop.

Google will begin rolling out the Jelly Bean in an update to newer model Android devices in July.

US: No sanctions on China, Singapore over Iran oil

By NBC News and news services

The United States on Thursday gave China and Singapore six-month reprieves from sanctions over importing Iranian oil.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton commended the two Asian countries for "significantly" reducing the oil purchases. Eighteen other governments have received similar waivers designed to pressure Iran to curb its nuclear program by choking off its oil revenues.

The West believes Iran aims to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran says its nuclear activities are solely for peaceful purposes such as generating electricity and medical isotopes.

Reductions by all 20 countries showed that Iran was paying a high price for its nuclear program, Clinton said.

"Their cumulative actions are a clear demonstration to Iran's government that Iran's continued violation of its international nuclear obligations carries an enormous economic cost," Clinton said in a statement.

?According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), Iran's crude oil exports in 2011 were approximately 2.5 million barrels per day, and have dropped to roughly 1.5 million barrels per day, which in real terms means almost $8 billion in lost revenues every quarter,? she said. ?When the European Union oil embargo goes into effect July 1, Iran's leaders will understand even more fully the urgency of the choice they face and the unity of the international community.?

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is shown in Beijing on May 4.

Belgium, Britain, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Malaysia, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Turkey earlier received waivers.

The latest waivers came as an American deadline arrived for banks to stop processing petroleum transactions with Tehran.

China buys up to a fifth of Iran's oil exports and Singapore buys Iranian fuel oil.

The Republican chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee said the Obama administration was giving Beijing a "free pass."

"The administration likes to pat itself on the back for supposedly being strong on Iran sanctions," said Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, of Florida. "But actions speak louder than words, and today the administration has granted a free pass to Iran's biggest enabler, China, which purchases more Iranian crude than any other country."

Technical talks over Iran?s nuclear program resume in Turkey next week.

Ubiquitous nanotubes could reboot Edison-era nickel-iron battery technology

nanotubes-edison-nickel-iron-batteryBack in the 1920s, Thomas Edison's dream of an electric automobile was ultimately foiled by those meddling petroleum engines. But thanks to nanotube research from Stanford University, one legacy from that era may regain some glory: nickel-iron batteries. It turns out that carbon nanotubes doped with nickel and iron crystals can top up the normally slow-charging cells in a matter of minutes -- according to the scientists, that's almost 1,000 times faster than in the past. Although the batteries couldn't power your Volt or Prius due to a lack of energy density, they could give an extra jolt to their lithium-ion siblings for quicker starts and regenerative braking. The researchers are working on improving stability to allow more charging cycles, but it might be an extra in-your-face for Edison if it pans out.

Benefits Of Hiring A Good Personal Injury Attorney | Attorneys ...

Posted in June 28, 2012 ? 9:09 amh.

If one has suffered from injury or has been a victim of an undesirable event in Chicago, he or she should get the services of a personal injury attorney Chicago. Catching on the obstacles of the legal method as well as getting sufficient compensation is quite challenging. One should be provided with competent services as well as guidance in the course of the method by means of having a legal expert by his or her side.

Being a victim of another person?s negligence is bad enough. Going through a difficult negotiation process and the additional stress and anxiety to receive compensation make the situation worse. For this reason, hiring a good legal professional the soonest possible time is advisable so that the process of filing a claim can be initiated right away and all the important information in your mind is still fresh.

The legal expert is will decide if one?s case is justifiable and if it can be pursued in court by having a consultation and going over the information of his or her status. The legal expert will be able to decide on this in a short period of time provided that he or she has sufficient experience. It will not take long because the legal expert is well-versed on the method just like the cases he or she has taken care of previously. The legal expert is expected to decide whether or not the other party is accountable based on the rules.

A reputable legal expert is honest to his or her clients especially concerning their chances. One need not worry because many of the legal experts will not ask him or her to pay until the settlement for his or her case has been made as these legal experts work on contingency conditions. This is an excellent way for one to have peace of mind knowing that his or her time will not go to waste.

The legal procedure should be followed by these individuals by proving that the other individuals are guilty. As expected, the other individuals are prone to objecting strongly and protest that they are not guilty. The documentation of all the needed evidence will be done by these individuals with the assistance of the legal specialists to prove that the other individuals are indeed guilty. The legal procedure will only begin after the legal specialists file the papers in court.

It cannot be denied that a lot of individuals prefer to avoid the drawn out, long, and unpleasant confrontation in courts and so most of the personal injury cases are settled outside court. A lot of individuals prefer finish it immediately. In most instances, legal specialists work with other parties during the negotiation procedure.

Both the mental suffering and the cost you have acquired will be covered by the figure that will be agreed upon. The different expenses resulting from the accident such as damages to property, lost wages, therapy, and medical fees will be covered.

Once individuals receive the compensation, they will be able to move on and forget the unfortunate mishap they have experienced. They can use the compensation to forget the blame, make their recovery better, and live a normal and better life. These can only be achieved if these individuals will employ a Personal Injury Attorney Chicago to help them out with their claims.

Samsung sees higher Q2 handset earnings; U.S. supply crunch to ease

SEOUL (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co expects sales of its new Galaxy S III, launched at the end of last month as a main rival to Apple's iPhone, to top 10 million during July, making it the South Korean group's fastest selling smartphone.

It also predicted earnings from its handset division would be higher in the current second quarter than in January-March, countering market concerns that tight supplies of the new Galaxy model and the weak global economy would pressure earnings at Asia's most valuable technology firm.

Shares in Samsung dropped 4.2 percent on Monday to a four-and-a-half month low, after more brokers cut their quarterly profit outlook, citing concerns over its chip and telecoms businesses. The benchmark KOSPI stock index was down 1.2 percent.

"The overall market condition was challenging due to euro zone issues and tight supply of components ... but (our) second-quarter results will be better than the first quarter," JK Shin, head of Samsung's mobile division, told reporters.

Profit from Samsung's mobile division nearly trebled in January-March to $3.6 billion, accounting for 73 percent of group operating profit.

"Looking beyond its current weakness in the chip sector, it appears investors are also worried that global macroeconomic woes may eat into handset sales in the second half," said Han Seung-hoon, an analyst at Korea Investment & Securities.

OUT OF STOCK

Samsung kicked off global sales of its Galaxy S III on May 29, but shipments have been affected by the tight supply of parts such as the handset casing for the pebble-blue model.

In the United States, where sales were launched last Thursday, major carriers including Sprint Nextel Corp, T-Mobile and AT&T have not been able to offer the Galaxy with 32 gigabytes of memory, partly due to tight supply.

"Due to overwhelming demand for the Galaxy S III worldwide, Samsung has informed us they will not be able to deliver enough inventory of Galaxy S III for Sprint to begin selling the device on June 21. We are working closely with Samsung on a delivery schedule to support our launch," Sprint said on its web site. It has yet to start shipping pre-orders for the 32 GB version.

"We're getting far better reviews on S III than we did with its predecessors globally ... and supply simply can't meet soaring demand. We've sent executives and staff to almost all our (component) suppliers to ensure a smooth offering and hopefully things will get better from next week," Shin said.

Samsung launched its first Galaxy model two years ago in a rush to counter Apple's iPhone success. Then, Samsung's smartphone market share was below 10 percent. It has since overtaken Apple, and the company said in late April that new Galaxy smartphones would "substantially contribute" to second-quarter results.

Analysts have downgraded estimates for Samsung's second-quarter smartphone shipments in recent weeks, predicting that sales of the latest Galaxy model have triggered a steeper than expected drop-off in sales of earlier products. They also cited tight supply of the S III model and growing competition from low-end manufacturers such as Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corp.

Shin said Samsung was also doing well in the low-end segment of the smartphone market.

JPMorgan cut its forecast for Samsung's second-quarter smartphone shipments by a tenth to 50 million units.

Samsung sold 44.5 million smartphones in January-March - equal to nearly 21,000 every hour - giving it 30.6 percent market share. Apple sold 35.1 million iPhones, taking 24.1 percent market share.

10in Android ICS tablet drops under ?100

Online Ebay retailer, DigilandUK, is selling the Kocaso M1050 Android tablet for a smidgen under ?97 including delivery, making it one of the cheapest large screen tablets on the market.

The tablet comes with a Vimicro processor clocked at 1.2GHz (we're not sure whether it is a Cortex-A8 or an ARM11-based), 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB on-board storage, two USB ports, a 10.1in 1,024 x 600 pixels resistive screen, a 5000mAh battery, HDMI out, Wi-Fi, a front facing webcam, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a microSD card slot and even an Ethernet port.

Oddly enough, there's no onboard GPS or Bluetooth. We'd gladly swap the Ethernet port for either. A new model, the M1060 comes with a capacitive screen but also costs 45 per cent more. Note that the Kocaso M1050 comes with a leather case and full access to Google Play.

7in tablets with a capacitive display and a similar configuration can be had for around ?70 but they have a 800 x 480 pixels resolution instead.

How to Avoid the Spam Filter in Your Email ... - Internet Marketing

**Note: This is a guest post written by one of our readers. For more information on how to submit a guest post, please read our?guest posting guidelines.

Email marketing is a great way to communicate with prospects as well as current and past clients. That being said, there is a lot that goes into sending a high quality, highly targeted email. Along with this, you have to concern yourself with spam filters. In other words, is your message going to make its way to the recipient? Or will a spam filter pick it off along the way?

Before you do anything, it is important to plan your email marketing campaign. With the proper strategy in place, you have a much better chance of avoiding the spam filter attached to your target?s email account.

Tip: once you have an email newsletter template that works, stick with it in the future. Not only will this ensure that you avoid the spam filter, but if it converts well you will know that you are going to get the results you are looking for.

Are you new to the email marketing game? If so, it is safe to say that you may not know much about spam filters and how these work. For this reason, you have the potential for making mistakes along the way ? many of which are sure to slow you down.

The bad thing about a spam filter is that you don?t get a second chance. Once your email ends up here, there is nothing you can do but sit back and wait for your next chance at the prospect.

5 Tips to Avoid Accidental Spam Filtering

No matter if you are new to email marketing or have been engaging in this method for many years, there are several things you can do to avoid accidental spam filtering:

  1. Do not use ?spammy? phrases. These include everything from ?deal of a lifetime? to ?click here? to ?once in a lifetime opportunity.? Spam filters can detect these phrases, especially if they are included in the subject of your email.
  2. Do not treat your email newsletter the same way you would a sales page. This means avoiding the overuse of exclamation points. While there is nothing wrong with emphasizing your content here and there, using more of these than necessary will improve the chance of your email ending up being marked as spam.
  3. All CAPS should be avoided at all costs. This is one of the most common subject line mistakes that people make, even those who have been using this marketing tactic for a long time. Why would you want to use all CAPS? This is the equivalent of screaming at your audience. This does not improve the click through rate of your email. If anything, it will scare people away as it appears to be extremely spammy.
  4. Using color for your fonts. If I add bright red to the beginning of my email people will think it is important, right? Think again. The more colors you use, the less likely somebody is to read through your email. And of course, this can set off the spam filter from a mile away.
  5. Messy HTML. When you attempt to cut corners by converting a Word file to HTML, it is safe to say that you are going to end up with a sloppy HTML email. In turn, it is going to be flagged as spam almost every time.

With these five tips in mind, you should find it much easier to avoid the spam filter with every email newsletter that you send. Once you know what you are doing in this regard, you will find that your read-rate is much higher ? and that is exactly what you want.

If your email is not read, the recipient cannot take action. And if he or she cannot take action, there is no point in sending the email in the first place.

When you start with a good plan and follow it up with the above tips, you can beat even the most strict email filters. Subsequently, you will find that your newsletter is converting better and allowing you to get in touch with a larger number of people on your list. Don?t let the use of spam filters stop you from achieving all your email marketing goals.

Police: Man stole golf carts, trailers from Northshore homes

wwltv.com

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 11:55 AM

SLIDELL, La. - A man that sheriff's office investigators believe has stolen more than $50,000 in equipment and merchandise from several homes on the Northshore and in Mississippi over the past few months has been arrested.

Jorge Alberto Munguia-Martinez, 32, was booked into the St. Tammany Paris jail Thursday on one count of theft over $1,500. Additional charges are expected.

According to St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman George Bonnett, surveillance video showed Martinez backing up a trailer into a Lacombe residence, loading up and taking a golf cart.

Bonnett said that investigation tied Martinez into five other theftson the Northshore. In fact, he said the trailer used to steal the golf cart was also stolen in a previous heist.

Bonnett also said that detectives were able to solve the case by using a general description of Martinez and his truck from the video. A patrol deputy made a stop of Martinez and interviewed him. A warrant was obtained for his arrest.

The sheriff's office said that during a subsequent interview with detectives, Martinez confessed to five different thefts.

While recovering various stolen items from area pawn shops, detectives learned that Martinez had pawned items stolen from Hancock County, Mississippi, as well. The Hancock County Sheriff?s Office is now involved in a joint investigation into Martinez?s crime spree

Hamas threatens to escalate attacks on Israel

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Gaza's militant Hamas rulers threatened to escalate fighting with Israel on Saturday after airstrikes killed several gunmen in the coastal territory, and Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel wounded one person and damaged an elementary school in the country's south.

The two sides periodically clash, but this flare-up was the most serious in months. It started with an attack by a little known al-Qaida-inspired Palestinian militant group but has extended to drag in Hamas.

Hamas has largely stayed out of direct confrontation with Israel since a war more than three years ago although other factions have launched cross-border attacks.

Gaza militants fired over 30 rockets and mortar shells on Saturday alone, bringing the week's rocket tally to more than 150, according to the Israeli military.

Over a million people in southern Israel live in range of the rockets and the Israeli military has advised the residents to make sure they can get to a bomb shelter quickly.

An Egyptian official in Ramallah said that he is trying to broker a cease-fire between the Palestinian militant groups and Israel. He said he hoped calm would be restored by late Saturday. Egypt traditionally plays a mediating role between the sides.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because negotiations were ongoing. Israel had no immediate official comment on the Egyptian efforts, but Hamas official Ayman Taha said his group would cease fire if Israel does. Soon after Taher spoke more rockets fired from Gaza exploded in southern Israel. It was not clear which group fired them.

A previous cease-fire reached late Tuesday did not hold long.

Military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz convened "an urgent meeting" to discuss ways of dealing with a week of persistent Palestinian attacks, a spokesman said, while Defense Minister Ehud Barak consulted with senior officials Saturday evening. There was no official statement afterward but the Israeli media reported that the decision was made "to meet fire with fire and quiet with quiet."

Israel's military said it carried out a series of airstrikes Saturday in response to the rockets. At least four militants were killed and over 20 Palestinians, both combatants and civilians, were injured, according to Gaza health official Ashraf Al Kedra.

Hamas' military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, vowed to escalate the fighting.

"If the last rounds were not enough to deliver the message ... we are ready to crush the enemy and to curb its arrogance and to respond to aggression in a strong way," the group said in a statement released Saturday afternoon.

A few hours later an Israeli airstrike killed a Gaza militant riding a scooter. The Popular Resistance Committees, a Hamas-allied militant group that often fires rockets at Israel, said he was a member. Witnesses said the force of the explosion caused a wall of a nearby building to collapse, injuring several people. The Israeli military said they targeted the militant as he was preparing to launch rockets.

In an earlier attack the same day, an Israeli airstrike killed a Palestinian militant as he rode his motorcycle in Gaza. Several buildings used by Hamas, which rules the coastal territory, were also damaged.

The Israeli military said it hit "terror sites" and that it holds Hamas accountable for any attacks originating from the Gaza Strip.

Also, an Israeli was seriously wounded when a Gaza rocket smashed through a factory roof. Rockets from Gaza also hit a school in the Israeli border town of Sderot. The school was closed for the weekend so no one was hurt but the building was damaged. Several other Israelis were injured in Palestinian rocket attacks this past week.

"We have been enduring years of relentless Palestinian escalations and this is just one of them," said David Buskila, mayor of the Israeli border town Sderot where the school was hit. "We trust the Israeli military and government to restore calm," he said.

The spike in violence began Monday when two gunmen infiltrated into Israel along its border with Egypt's Sinai peninsula and killed an Israeli Arab construction worker who was part of a crew building a border security fence meant to avert such attacks. Later, a little known al-Qaida-inspired group, the Mujahedeen Shura Council of Jerusalem, claimed responsibility for the attack and identified the gunmen as an Egyptian and a Saudi.

Since then, Gaza gunmen have fired barrages of rockets and mortar rounds at Israel, wounding several Israelis and damaging apartment buildings. Israel has carried out airstrikes on militant targets that killed at least 12 Palestinians and wounded dozens so far.

Meanwhile, Gaza health official Ashraf Al Kedra said a boy was killed in a playground during an airstrike Saturday morning in Khan Younis. The Israeli military said it had not attacked that area.

Military spokeswoman Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich later called the allegation a "false rumor" and said that according to intelligence information, the boy was killed by "ordinance belonging to one of the terror groups." Palestinian rockets often misfire and explode inside Gaza.

How Outsourcing Can Save You Money

written by John Rampton on June 23, 2012

Before the current society and the boom of the internet outsourcing, larger companies primarily dominated the outsourcing model.? These days outsourcing has become a most normal way for most businesses to run their business.? There are several reasons why a company or entrepreneur can benefit from outsourcing. ?This also allows the small businesses to get a competitive edge over the bigger companies.

The companies that save the most money with outsourcing are typically startups.? They are allowed to get the work they need to do accomplish at a fraction of the price.? The most common things that are outsourced are back-end jobs such as data entry/ processing, customer support, payroll processing, etc. This service is now available through small companies around the globe.

There are a few things that you should know before deciding to outsource your work.? First you need to have a set goal in mind of what it is you need to accomplish though your outsourcing?? Where is the outsourcing going to get you and your business?? There are also some things you must be cautious of when outsourcing.? But at the end of the day it has become an everyday function for many companies. ?Below I have listed some ways outsourcing can save you money along with the challenges you will face because of it:

  • Lower costs
This is one of the primary reason businesses decide to outsource.? It allows the business to get the work done for a fraction of the price.? It also allows a business to skip costs such as health insurance and vacation pay. Many people choose offshore outsourcing because they receive quality at a much lower price.? It has been researched and on average, a company can save about 60% in operational costs with an outsourced individual.
  • Skilled Expertise
When you are hiring for a business it can be a challenge to find good people with skilled expertise to do the work at a reasonable rate. Outsourcing allows companies to be free from the hassle of in house hiring while getting an expert in the field.
  • Time zone difference
There can be some challenges to he time zone difference but in the long run it has a great benefit. Even when a business is closed the work is still getting done and productivity is always moving forward. Of course it goes without saying this increase a company?s revenue if you are managing it in the right way.
  • Ability to Focus
The down side to growth is the need for more things need to be done. Outsourcing to someone and allowing them to handle your back-office operations and administrative work prevents a company from investing time and energy that is needed for more important functions. Entrepreneurs have benefited from outsourcing repetitive and redundant tasks, giving them more time and opportunity to grow their business, it will also have you focus because you?re paying for other people to do the work that you aren?t doing.
  • Increased productivity and Efficiency
Outsourcing can also improve the efficiency of business operations. If your business is more efficient it can only increase in its function. This opens the door to bigger expansion and new ideas.
  • Risk
When projects are outsourced, companies can give away the liability and risk associated with the task. A good example is payroll management. Outsourcing it to a payroll service provider gives a company the freedom to focus on other core activities of the business. This also saves money on the amount of liability insurance you have to pay and the risk of being sued.
  • Improving customer service
Good customer service is the foundation of any company. Outsourcing it to companies overseas allows a company to offer 24 hours availably. Although as natives we often complain about having a hard time understanding the person on the other end of the phone or issues end up resolved. If that company had not outsourced you would have had to wait until the next ?business day? sometime that is time we don?t have.
  • Better people management
The time and energy you would have put into managing your staff can now be put into managing your customers. It allows a company to give their customers hands on attention and invest in research that will help them make their customer experience better.

These are only a few ways outsourcing helps to save money. The benefits are endless and the proof is in the number of companies that are currently outsourcing.

Singles try to sniff out love at pheromone parties

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Sniff your way to love? Singles who have attended so-called pheromone parties haven't ruled it out.

The get-togethers ? which have been held in New York and Los Angeles and are planned for other cities ? ask guests to submit a slept-in T-shirt that will be smelled by other participants.

Then, voila! You can pick your partner based on scent, or so the theory goes.

The parties started out as an experimental matchmaking fest by a California woman weary of online dating, but it turns out they also have a root in science. Researchers have shown that humans can use scent to sort out genetic combinations that could lead to weaker offspring.

At a dimly lit art gallery in Los Angeles on a recent night, partygoers huddled around several tables covered with plastic freezer bags stuffed with shirts and an index card bearing a number. Once they found one they liked, a photographer snapped a picture of them holding the bag and projected it onto a wall so the shirt's rightful owner could step forward and meet his or her odor's admirer.

Konstantin Bakhurin, a 25-year-old neuroscience graduate student, said he bypassed the bags that smelled like baby powder or laundry detergent or perfume in search of something more unique: the owner of a distinctive yellow-T-shirt whose fragrance he described as "spicy."

"I think it's probably a bit more pseudoscience," said Bakhurin, who attended with two fellow graduate students from University of California, Los Angeles. "I just kind of came here for kicks to see what would happen."

The parties are a marked contrast to the proliferation of online dating sites, which demand countless details from singles, and in some ways are taking romance back to its most primal beginnings.

Judith Prays, a web developer who now lives in Atlanta, said she came up with the idea for pheromone parties after she failed to find a match online. Prays said she'd date men for a month or so before things soured until she started seeing a man who wasn't what she was looking for and wound up in a two-year relationship.

What she remembered was his smell.

"Even when he smelled objectively bad, I thought he smelled really good," the 25-year-old said. "And so I thought, OK, maybe I should be dating based on smell?"

At first, it was an experiment. Prays invited 40 friends to a party in New York and asked them to sleep in a T-shirt for three nights, put it in a plastic bag and freeze it, then bring it to the party. Bags were coded with blue cards for men and pink for women and numbered so the shirts' owners could pinpoint their admirers.

The night was a hit, Prays said, adding that half a dozen couples hooked up and one pair formed a relationship. Since then, she has held similar parties in New York and Los Angeles and is planning others for Atlanta, San Francisco and perhaps elsewhere.

Many partygoers chuckled at the idea of finding a match in a smelly T-shirt. But that's not to say there isn't some science supporting the idea.

Research studies using similar T-shirt experiments have shown that people prefer different human scents. But whose smell they prefer is dictated by a set of genes that influence our immune response ? which researchers say is nature's way of preventing inbreeding and preserving genetic adaptations developed over time.

"Humans can pick up this incredibly small chemical difference with their noses," said Martha McClintock, founder of the Institute for Mind and Biology at the University of Chicago. "It is like an initial screen."

In one such study, McClintock and her colleagues had participants sniff inside a covered box without knowing that in some cases they were smelling worn T-shirts. What they found was people preferred the odors of those who had different genetic makeups from their own, but not radically different.

In Los Angeles, several dozen 20-somethings headed to the gallery at night in search of romance ? or at least out of curiosity. They posed playfully for the photographer with shirts they liked, hoping the owner might step forward and say hello.

Few did. Some admitted they had seen their number flashed on the wall but were too shy to identify themselves.

But there was still plenty of chatter as beer-sipping singles turned up their noses at bags that smelled like hiker's sweat and their aunt's old carpet and took a second whiff of sweet and musky fragrances they liked but couldn't peg ? a playful exercise that served as an icebreaker to what otherwise could have been an awkward gathering of strangers.

Karen Arellano threw back her head and laughed after trying a handful of bags that reeked of sweat, coffee and even weed ? but said she didn't really come to the party in search of love.

"I don't think I'm going to find anything more than, 'Hi, how are you,' a conversation," the 29-year-old baker said. "That's expectation enough."

Prays said she's also learned from the experience that while scent is powerful, it isn't enough to detect a good match.

"Animals have babies and they move on, and that's what the pheromone party is," said Prays, who may start including a few pertinent details on the index cards, like a person's relationship expectations. "The most successful thing about it is it opens up conversation."

Kobo eReader Touch Edition packs bags for Japan, books flight for July

Rakuten's $315 million buyout of Kobo will bear some e-reader fruit come July. The e-tailer's CEO and chairman, Hiroshi Mikitani, announced plans to release the Kobo eReader Touch Edition in Japan next month for 10,000 yen (on par with its $130 US sticker price). Timing is key, of course -- murmurs of the Kindle Touch's Japanese debut haven't escaped Mikitani's notice. "As a Japanese company, we cannot lose (to overseas rivals)," he told The Asahi Shimbun. Rakuten hopes to use the e-reader to export Japanese content, and aims to have 50,000 titles available by the end of 2012. Pre-orders kick off on July 2, with more details to come next month.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Fighting a swell of economic anxiety, President Barack Obama has lost much of the narrow lead he held just a month ago over Mitt Romney and the two now are locked in a virtually even race for the White House, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll. The survey also found a majority of Americans disapproving of how the Democratic president is handling a national economy that fewer people think is improving.

Less than five months before the election, 47 percent say they will vote for the president and 44 percent for Romney, a difference that is not statistically significant. The poll also shows that Romney has recovered from a bruising Republican primary, with more of his supporters saying they are certain to vote for him now.

The economy remains Obama's top liability. Only 3 out of 10 adults say the country is headed in the right direction and 55 percent disapprove of his handling of the economy, the highest level detected in AP-GfK polls this year.

"I'm not going to vote for Obama," said Raymond Back, a 60-year-old manufacturing plant manager from North Olmsted, Ohio, one of the most competitive states in this election. "It's just the wrong thing to do. I don't know what Romney is going to do, but this isn't the right way."

Yet, in a measure of Romney's own vulnerabilities, even some voters who say they support Romney believe the president will still be re-elected. Of all adults polled, 56 percent believe Obama will win a second term. And despite three months of declining job creation that have left the public increasingly glum, Romney has not managed to seize the economic issue from the president, with registered voters split virtually evenly on whether Romney or Obama would do a better job improving it.

The polling numbers come as no surprise to either camp. Both Romney and Obama advisers have anticipated a close contest that will be driven largely by economic conditions. The Obama camp is busy trying to define Romney, hoping it is reaching more independents like Doss Comer, 58, of Jacksonville, N.C., who said he would vote for Obama again, despite the lagging economy.

"I think we are on the wrong track," he said. "We're not getting anywhere. We're not growing. The unemployment rate just spiked up again." But, he added: "I don't trust Romney because of what he's doing. He's telling his business experience, that he was an investor in business. ... I don't think he has the right background any more than Obama."

With his Republican nomination now ensured, Romney has succeeded in unifying the party behind him and in maintaining a singular focus on making the election a referendum on Obama's handling of the economy. Over time, polls that measure Obama's standing have reflected fluctuations in the economy, which has shown both strength and weakness since it began to recover from the recent recession. The new survey illustrates how an ideologically divided country and a stumbling recovery have driven the two men into a tight match.

The poll results among voters who live in states decided by less than 10 percentage points in 2008 underscore Obama's challenge. Among those voters in the new poll, Romney has an advantage, a shift from last month when Obama held that edge.

Still, Obama's overall 49 percent approval rating is not unlike the approval ratings George W. Bush faced in June 2004 during his re-election campaign, when he and his Democratic challenger, John Kerry, were also locked in a dead heat.

Besides weak job growth and still high unemployment, Obama is at the mercy of European countries struggling with a debt crisis that has already sent ripples across the Atlantic. Indicators released Thursday held bad news for hiring and for home sales, a day after the Federal Reserve downgraded its outlook for the economy.

For all that, and with preferences for November in a virtual tie, a majority of people believe Obama will still be re-elected, a shift from an even split on the question seven months ago. In December, 21 percent of Republicans said they thought Obama would win re-election; that's risen to 31 percent now. And among independents, the share saying Obama will win has climbed from 49 percent to 60 percent. Among Democrats, it was 75 percent in both polls.

Tim Baierlein of Brandon, Fla., believes Romney would be a reassuring voice for a business community worried about regulations and higher taxes. But he said he still thinks Obama will win because the right wing of the Republican Party could alienate voters from Romney and because, in his view, Romney lacks a clear message.

"He just comes across as very elitist and I think that's going to hurt," he said.

About 4 out of 10 adults say they are worse off now than they were four years ago, compared with nearly 3 out of 10 who say they are doing better now. Among those who say they're doing worse, 60 percent say they plan to vote for Romney in November.

Amy Thackeray, 35, of Alpine, Utah, said her husband and five children experienced the economic downturn when it affected her husband's job. "We've dealt with a pay cut," she said. "We are grateful we still have a job. We live within our means. We save and we feel that in situations like this, it makes us save even more."

"We need someone with more financial and business experience than what Obama has," she said. "We need a president who takes one term and makes the hard decisions to put us back on the right track, and I hope it will be Romney."

The Associated Press-GfK Poll was conducted June 14-18 by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications. It involved landline and cellphone interviews with 1,007 adults nationwide, including 878 registered voters. Results from the full sample have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points; it is 4.2 points for registered voters.
